ALFA Network AWUS06H rtl8187 no conecta en Debian-Stretch [SOLUCIONADO]
Acá os expongo mi curioso problema:
Tengo instalados tanto debian jessie cómo stretch Y lo que sucede con las targetas citadas es los siguiente:
Ambos cargan los módulos del kernel, tanto jessie cómo stretch.
En jessie se coneta sin ningún problema y los móduos cargados son exáctamente los mismos:
rtl8187 y r8169(rtl8106e-1)
Pero acá lo extraño:
En stretch veo las wifis disponibles igual que en jessie pero no se conecta.
Cuando hago ficonfig me sale esto:
# ifconfig wlan0 up
wlan0: ERROR while getting interface flags: No existe el dispositivo
Cuando hago el mismo comando en jessie no hay problema ninguno.
También probé esto y nada:
nano /etc/avahi/avahi-autoipd.action
En la parte
METRIC=$((1000 + `cat "/sys/class/net/$2/ifindex" 2>/dev/null || echo 0`))
Lo cambiamos por
METRIC=$((1050 + `cat "/sys/class/net/$2/ifindex" 2>/dev/null || echo 0`))
Un saludo, espero no haber faltado alguna información. llevo ya bastante tiempo tratando de encontrar solución pero no la encuentro y ya no se me ocurre nada más.
ifconfig wlan0... ¿estás seguro de que tu dispositivo se llama así?
wlanX es como se han llamado hasta ahora los dispositivos y, si no has modificado tu sistema para que sigan llamándose de dicha forma, posiblemente lo que antes era wlan0, ahora sea wlp3s0 o similar.
Por otro lado, lo que has cambiado (metric), no es más que la prioridad del dispositivo a la hora del uso del sistema por ella (y siendo avahi, el uso de avahi de la misma).
"Acota" algo más tu problema y trata de aportar mas info, ya que con decir el módulo no basta (el mismo sirve para muchos dispositivos similares), logs del sistema cuando trata de hacer la conexión (dmesg, /var/log/syslog, journalctl, son tus amigos).
P.D.: Jessie = wlan0, Stretch/testing = wlp3s0, para situarnos.
No hay bar que por bien no venga....
En stretch que salida te da ifconfig -a, ya que la interfase para wifi en stretch puede cambiar a wlp2s0 o algo parecido.

Debemos suponer que te conectas a internet, mediante comandos desde la terminal, nada de wicd, network-manager, etc.
Posiblemente en Stretch, te falto instalar el firmware de la tarjeta de red, ¿Qué tarjeta de red?.
Posiblemente la tarjeta de red este bloqueada, rfkill --help ¿?

En esta página me especifica todo acerca del modem USB wifi y la vengo de consultar antes a través de esta que imagino sea bastante famosa: debiera de estar el driver integrado en el kernel ya, de echo el módulo tl8187 me aparece cargado sin instalar nada. También instale el frimware-realtek, aunque no debiera ser necesario pero nada.

Me conecto con jessie sin ningún problema con el gnome-network-manager y sin instalar nada en absoluto pero la versión estable me da problemas con cinnamon (Supuse que la gráfica), que no arranca (Arranco con MATE) y con el emulador genymotion por eso me puse a instalar en otra partición Stretch. Al arrancar Stretch cinnamon funciona pero no puedo conectarme a internet. El módulo aparece montado igual pero es clicar en la red y no se conecta. Para saber los módulos utilizo el programa hardinfo.
También intento conectarme por consola pero nada aunque ya no tengo el mimo error.
A este comando me dice lo siguiente:
rfkill --help

si estas configurando con el networkmanager de cinnamon comenta lo que configuraraste en /etc/network/interfaces
y dejalo asi
pero si lo vas a configurar a mana leete los siguientes link
toma en cuenta que en stretch tu interface de red inalambrica no es wlan0 si no que es wlx00c0ca71e3da

"no conecta" tampoco ayuda mucho... ya te dije que miraras los logs (abre una consola, ejecuta el comando journalctl -f o el comando tail -f /var/log/syslog dejando esa consola a la vista y entonces conecta el dispositivo) a ver que te dice el sistema. Las alfa funcionan normalmente sin problemas en GNU/Linux (de hecho, tengo una y no me ha dado ningún problema prácticamente nunca). Por lo que sea, es posible que en tu sistema tengas que hacer uso de algún parámetro del módulo (podrás verlos con modinfo MODULO, y ver si tiene alguno referente a la gestión de energía y probar con los valores que te indique acepta).
Por otro lado, si puede haber algún problemilla en según que equipos (aunque no debería ser tu caso, ya que dices que es el mismo equipo con diferentes versiones del sistema). En algunos casos, es probable que al tratarse de una alpha "le pida" demasiada energía al usb (en windows, p.e., si no tienes el driver europeo si la vas a usar en españa suele conectar y desconectarse continuamente el dispositivo por esto mismo), pruebala en diferentes puertos usb. También puedes buscar como configurar el dispositivo para la zona europea (o americana, la que se aplique a tu caso), ya que esto hará que la gestión de energía sea más eficiente al restringir el dispositivo las frecuencias que vaya a usar).
Respecto a rfkill, tienes que tenerlo instalado y usarlo como root (se usa para activar/desactivar dispositivos como wifi y bluetooth, y suele ser el sistema el que se encarga de ello).
Y, como te han dicho, todo lo que tengas configurado en /etc/network/interfaces interferirá con el gestor de redes que utilices, ya que network-manager ignorará cualquier dispositivo que se encuentre ahi).
No hay bar que por bien no venga....

Pues parece que cargar la carga bien, pero eso que veo que renombre (que la conozca como wlan0 y acto seguido la llame wlx00c0ca71e3da) se me hace extraño, como si estuviera mezclando configuraciones... ¿No existirá por casualidad un archivo llamado 70-persistent-net.rules en tu sistema? Es el archivo que se creaba antes udev para saber como llamar a cada interface y así no asignar el nombre de una a otra que se conecte después. De esta forma se asegura siempre que un usb se llame wlan0 y otro con diferente mac wlan1, por ejemplo. Me suena que si está, estará en /lib/udev/rules.d/.
Por lo que veo en tus log, si intenta la conexión, pero por alguna razón no la consigue, así como que rfkill detecta del dispositivo en el sistema, y que también carga el firmware sin problemas, es algo raro.
El módulo que se encarga de controlarla no veo que tenga ningún parámetro, asi que por ahi poco puedes probar (modinfo rtl8187). Así que habrá que buscar por otro lado.

Perdón, el firmware que carga es de la tarjeta ethernet, ni caso. La verdad es que parece que la alpha no lo necesita.

Para meter la salida de un comando en consola, puedes usar el icono que hay arriba en el editor, junto al de cita (las comillas). Le das ahi, y metes lo que quieras en la ventana que sale, asi será más sencillo leer el post.
Si por otro lado consideras que es muy extenso, puedes usar un servicio como es pastebin o debian.paste

Lo he logrado gracias a las últimas indicaciones que me has dado. Comento cómo:
Busqué un fichero parecido al que me comentabas "70-persistent-net.rules2 y encontré este otro que se le asemejaba y, por lo que comentabas,al abrirlo resultó lógico que se trataba del mismo. Bien estaba en el mismo directorio que comentabas "/lib/udev/rules.d/" y se llama ahora 73-usb-net-by-mac.rules. Esto en la distribución Debian Stretch.
En la distribución squeeze el archivo también está en el mismo directorio"/lib/udev/rules.d/" y ahí se llama 75-persistent-net-generator.rules
Simplemente copie el texto de un archivo a otro ya que en Squeeze no tenía problemas y quedó de este modo:
Y solucionado. El motivo, ni idea. Luego os pondré el archivo original antes de modificarlo por que tendría que reinstalar de nuevo, cuando tenga tiempo para dejar todo bien expuesto. Hice la bobada de no hacer copia del original, cosa que, por precaución no se debe hacer nunca pero...

Bueno, el mismo no es... Posiblemente en algún momento, el sistema separó el archivo para diferenciar entre dispositivos internos y externos, eso lo desconozco. Por un lado, si, el archivo es similar, solo que por el nombre parece que se encarga solo de los dispositivos conectados por usb.
Por lo que veo, el problema entonces venía de la nueva denominación de dispositivos de red, algo extraño, pero bueno, siempre puede pasar que esté en plena transición (yo lo activé no hace mucho en Debian Sid), y te hayas encontrado con algún bug en proceso de solución, quien sabe.

Bueno, prueba medio realizada. En Debian Sid, tanto la alpha que tengo, AWUS036H, como una Edimax, EW-7318-USg, me dan el mismo problema que a tí. Digo medio realizada porque no he probado a que el sistema use el antiguo método para renombrar los interfaces (wlanX...) en lugar del que se usa ahora, pero he encontrado esto, que parece que es el mismo problema (solucionado usando el método antiguo de denominación de interfaces):
así que si hubieras tenido el archivo que yo mismo comenté, no habrías tenido problemas al parecer. Como ya está reportado, pues a esperar. Almenos ya sabemos como solucionarlo.

Como apaño mientras sigue el inconveniente dejo este sprit de bash para gente que tenga el mismo problema y lo arregle fácilmente:
Pero es un apaño para este problema en concreto hasta que el reporte de bug sea atendido.
Sólo descargar y seguir las indicaciones de léeme que está en español.
